What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit our website. They help us provide you with a better experience and understand how visitors use our site.

How We Use Cookies

Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website to function properly. They enable core functionality such as security, network management, and accessibility. You cannot opt-out of these cookies.

  • Authentication cookies: Remember your login session when using the admin panel
  • Security cookies: Protect against unauthorized access

Analytics

We use two kinds of analytics on this site.

Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights tell us which pages are read and how quickly they load. Neither sets a cookie or stores anything on your device. Visits are counted from a hash of the request that is discarded at the end of the day, so no visitor can be identified or followed between visits. They record how many visitors come to the site and which pages they read, where a visit came from (for example a search engine or a link in an email), and page load times with the country, device type and browser they were measured on.

Google Analytics runs only if you choose “Accept analytics” in the cookie banner. Until you do, nothing is requested from Google. It tells us which pages are read, how visitors arrive and roughly where they are, and it lets us compare that with Google Search. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_… on this site that last up to two years and hold a random identifier, not your name or email address. Google uses your IP address to work out an approximate location and then discards it; it is not logged or stored. The data is processed by Google Ireland Limited under Google's data processing terms; see how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

If you choose “Necessary only” the Google tag is never loaded. You can change your choice at any time:

Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are set by third-party services that appear on our pages. For example:

  • Google Analytics: Only after you accept analytics cookies in the banner, as described above
  • Payment processors: When making payments, Stripe may set cookies for security and fraud prevention

We do not control these third-party cookies. Please refer to their privacy policies for more information.

Managing Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • See what cookies you have and delete them individually
  • Block third-party cookies
  • Block all cookies from specific sites
  • Block all cookies
  • Delete all cookies when you close your browser

Note: Blocking or deleting cookies may affect your ability to use some features of our website. For example, you may need to log in more frequently if you delete authentication cookies.
